Happy New Year! I come to you today from the cab of my truck, in my driveway, to talk about the fact that my new office isn’t ready to move in, and it’s January 1, and it’s kind of driving me crazy.

I don't even have access to my studio, my computer, my completed interviews – nothing. Everything is in tight storage, because I thought the new office would be ready for me by New Year's Eve. (That's a photo of me in my old office, which has returned to its old role as child's bedroom…

I turn for solace and wisdom to the poet David Whyte. In today's episode, I read and discuss with you a short essay titled “Procrastination.”

Since I'm in my truck, I  also sing “Feelin’ Groovy,” by Paul Simon, and “Fashioned in the Clay,” by Elmer Beale. I hope this is considered fair use by ASCAP and BMI. (Heck, the songs may not even be recognizable in these renditions ;))

Enjoy, add your voice to the conversation via the comment box or audio recording box below, and please share – that's how we spread our message and spread our roots.

Holy cow Howard, you can sing and play the guitar! What a wonderful inquiry into the machinations underlying the procrastination. Thank you for sharing a wider breadth of yourself and the messages bubbling through you.

  2. Kari says:

I’m not here to win, but to grow by being defeated by greater and greater things…
