Pam Kropf on Becoming a Plant-Based Trail Momma: PYP 171
Pam Kropf is on an inspiring journey of wellness and self-actualization that lacks some of the drama our culture associates with growth and change.
True, she lost her mother to a heart attack when she was just 17. And she suffered from undiagnosed celiac disease until the age of 23.
But all along the way, Pam has been self-experimenting, trying things, learning more and more. And she's come to a pretty instructive place – a plant-based ultra-runner living a simple, natural, joyful life.
I met Pam at Plantstock (where she would have trounced me in the fun run had I been in a competitive mindset), and she agreed to join me on the podcast.

We covered:
her early Italian-American New Jersey diet
losing weight in college through running and healthier eating
accidentally eliminating dairy because of the undiagnosed celiac disease
flirting with, and ultimately maintaining, a gluten-free lifestyle
the weirdness of being told by her doctors to drink some other mammal's milk during pregnancy
real-life dynamics about raising kids to eat healthy
why her daughter stopped eating tofu
attending a Dr Michael Greger lecture for Valentine's Day
getting into ultra-running and discovering the competitive advantages of a whole food, plant-based diet
starting TrailMomma.com to spread the benefits of healthy eating to her runner friends

You CAN Change Other People!
Well, that's what Peter Bregman and I claim in our provocative book of that title.
What we really mean is, you can help the people around you make behavioral changes in their own best interests. If you think you're powerless to help people change, it's because you've been going about it the wrong way.
Listen to Josh LaJaunie and me narrate our latest audiobook, about how to start moving when you're obese.
It's $10, and Josh and I split it evenly 🙂
