When we look to public figures as role models for the changes we aspire to make, we're in danger of assigning them “Superhero” status.
And the problem with that is, when we see the people who have accomplished what we haven't yet as fundamentally different from ourselves, we cut ourselves off from the strategies they used.
If Josh LaJaunie or Tim Kaufman or Nalida Besson are some kind of superhumans, losing all that weight and getting healthy by the sheer force of their awesomeness, then they have nothing to teach us.
Instead of admiring their results, focus on their boring, repetitive, mundane, daily actions. That's their real superpower: consistency.
