Often a coaching client will end a session by saying, “Wish me luck” after setting a goal and making a plan to achieve it.

In health coaching, this phrase is a huge red flag that the client is going to fail.

If you're a health coach and you don't know how to challenge – indeed, preempt and root out that thought – your clients will keep failing and you will keep having the same conversations with them over and over again.

If you're trying to change your habits and you hear a voice in your head asking for luck, then you're not going to make the changes you want.

You've got to get over the need for luck.
